The agony eases

I never thought that the ache in my heart for my ES and GC would ease, but it has. I have learned a lot of things about my ES during this time. However, the most important of what I have learned is about me.
For Example:
I accept it! Not everyone is going to like me, let alone love me and some of those who don’t like/love me just may be my own child.
I will surround myself with love and life! One can never have enough people who love you and support you in life.
I have faith and take my hurts and troubles and hand them over to God.
All of us on this site are on a terrible, hurtful journey but the road to healing does get smoother as we travel forward and travel forward we must with the Lord's help. Otherwise, we wallow in the depth of despair. I've been there and now I'm not. There use to be sad weeks, then sad days, and now there are sad moments.
I may never have a relationship with my ES or my GC. I pray that there will be a reconnection someday. But for today, I am moving forward.

Sallyann, It is so true. Only with Jesus can we move forward. There are periods of time that we will fall down. He will pick us up. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself. He is gracious to us. Life is hard. The Bible says that in this world their will be tribulation (of all kinds) but be of good cheer He had overcome the world. He walks beside us and we are not alone.

We keep our EC in prayer. One day they may listen to God. You will bless others through your trials, I am sure. You encouraged me today. God bless you.

Amen, DaJaper. I found that to be true even more so emotionally than physically. The Lord, this place, and having to be at work kept me going. Sometimes I was just going through the motions but it was still progress. God bless all of is good mothers and gps.

sallyann..I love what you posted here.

Until the Lord makes my family whole, I rely on Him to keep me from despair. The pain of estrangement is still there, but not as bad as the beginning. It's like surviving a car accident..you heal eventually, but there's always something that can trigger the pain of the initial event, and some people live with permanent scars, but can still function every day, just differently than before.

Life has challenges for everyone, and ours happens to include estrangement from our much loved adult child..some more than one child. It's our cross to bear for now. It won't always be this way, we can pray them into God's Kingdom and hope to spend eternity there..that's the hope I cling to.

When is the trying,pleading,begging,crying,enough? Will i know? My son just doesnt bother only call on holiday,birthday.Im the one who continues to tryto make something that isnt there.Thank you Sallyannlass.I see if ikeep writing,getting input that i think it willmake me stronger.I know not overnight but someday.

Personally I am still all over the place. I know that I have to move on but I'm not sure except to keep praying and letting the Lord lead me. There is still a lot of pain, pleading and begging. But when I do those things, I give our ES more of the power and I don't want him to have it all. But, I also want to find a way to see our GC. That is what hurts most and he knows it. I just have to keep my focus on Christ and know He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Although I pray that He will change hearts to remember and love again.

I agree Whyonly, It is so difficult for us to see what or EC are doing. It is very hurtful. I was sent a pic of our ED (23) in a group recently. She was smiling and it did not make sense to me. I know a smile on the outside does not mean real joy on the inside. I happen to know what a mess she has made and how much she has lost out on since estranging. Mostly a good family.

As good mothers we do not stop praying for our EC. God can do all things.
