Gordos, I hope you will feel better soon. Stress and emotions can make us feel physically sick.

I was surrounded by lots of family and great people,yesterday, but the estrangement and being ignored on a holiday by ED is such a sad missing piece. It reminds me of the Lord Jesus with the lost sheep parable. I believe the word "Accept" that you said is a must. We can only do this by God's grace. Another key for me is going to be to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and the blessings we do have.

We will support one another through this diffiicult time of the year. God bless you.

I hear you, gordos4. I have the post Thanksgiving blues too. I'm so sorry that you were literally sick to your stomach from the stress. Our EC have no idea what they put us through. My day was good but then we got random texts from the EC to alleviate their consciences. One skyped us because his new gf wanted to meet us. We haven't seen this ES in a year. We were probably a bit too hopeful for how that would go, it made me cry and depressed since. I think my game plan for Christmas will be altered now. Just too much emotion and expectations on the holiday day. I can't trust the EC not to spoil my holiday if they communicate with us on the day. I know it is good that they try at all but it is still so upsetting. All in all it could have been worse and it wasn't terrible so I just have to remember that.
We're all in this together! Praying for the best outcome for all of us this year. I know that if we were all together there would be so much understanding and camaraderie - that helps me not feel alone. Thanks all!

I had the blues also on thanksgiving,didnt cook saw no one but dh and myself.My oldest son invited us down to his home but we said no thanks told him we were going shopping.Honestly i just wouldnt have been good company for anyone.Had my crying spell and felt so weighted down.My youngest son called on way to work and asked if we had turkey i told him "no".Him and his wife cooked the day before thanksgiving for them.And made something for potluck at work.But I am thankful i heard from both my children it was our choice not to go anyhwhere.It is a very emotional time of year and will be thinking of everyone,and i am thankful for all my good friends i have met here.

I could be feeling the same way, but we actually made plans so we wouldn't be home just sitting around moping! We enjoyed a great late afternoon and evening with friends and now we are home and exhausted!! It takes a while for the acceptance, and I have those days when I really don't want to do anything but feel sorry for myself, but it doesn't do me any good!~ My ED's are living their lives and still not making contact, so I know that I need to move on too! It's not easy, but I'm not going to lay down and die because my kids are being selfish and hurtful. I have a life to live and I know God wants me to live it, not sit around and feel sorry for myself. There are hard days, but also unexpected surprises and great days too!! I hope you feel better soon and start enjoying life again.

I am feeling a little better today. texassunshine, we ALL have days when we feel sorry for ourselves, were only human. I have found that what I watch on TV affects my mood. I have been staying away from anything negative, violent, etc..esp. the news. A few episodes of Family Feud with Steve Harvey perks me up every time.
