CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
You have definitely found a wonderful place to share your feelings, ideas and love for the Lord with other parents who are missing their loved ones.
Way back, I'd say about a year ago, there was a great topic called "Detachment'. That really helped me understand that I am "detaching" from my ES, not closing the door, just detaching for awhile so I can live the life God has given me. Detaching isn't permanent, at least in my mind, so it helped me to not grieve but live.
God has certainly opened my eyes and changed the way I see most everything since this all started. I am much much much less judgmental of others and I don't sweat the small stuff in anything anymore. I'm also reminded that my hope is not in my daughter or in any person at all. It's in Jesus Christ alone.
thank you.
Your ED (estranged daughter) is 18. Young enough to have hope. I think when the baby comes and she realizes it's not like playing with baby dolls she'll come around. Be ready with forgiveness when she does.
And, yes, we will be here to forgive and help her pick up the pieces of her life if she has a genuine repentant heart. We will have some difficult days ahead, but so willing to grind through it for a restored relationship with her. And our soon-to-be grandchild.
a prodigal and we have been very hurt by it. DH (dear husband) and I came to realize that only God has the power to change our ED(estranged daughter). We have put her in God's hands with prayer. One day we pray she may turn back to God's way and family. God is able. Sometime it takes some hard lessons. Your ED will learn a lot through having a baby. She will learn how much you and your DH have done for her. When she does I am sure you will welcome her back.
Please keep us posted.
Hopefully, you will be able to help her with this grandchild of yours in the future, but keep praying for them.
We are here for you and you can share what is on your heart as you go through the pain of not being a part of your daughter's life at this time. We are all experiencing estrangement here, and coping by encouraging each other through our stories and our sharing...
I am always encouraged by the prayers of my friends here. God has helped so many of us cope by bringing us to this safe place. We are so glad to get to know you here.
