CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

Happy Mother's Day !!!
I would frame that white board and never erase that message. It would keep me going for years.
Happy Mother's Day!!!
Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!
I have said before, I am buying my GC a card for every holiday, and have gather several gifts that will be appropiate at whateer age I meet them. I want them to know, if they ever do reach out to me, that I have always loved and thought of them/
i have been thinking lately that instead of focusing on all i don't have, I need to be more grateful for what i do have. You just re-inforced that for me, thank you. I, too, have a lovely(and I mean inside and out) DIL who never lets a holiday go by w/o including me in some way. She and my son and I went to lunch with their little one today- the only GC I am allowed to see. The baby didn't feel well and was fussy, so we kept it short- but he blew me Kisses!!
Lord, help me be more grateful and less self-centered. You give me so many gifts- I don't want to miss the chance to say "Thank you" and "I love you, Lord"
Yesterday after a call from my GS (age 18) last week asking if I needed my grass cut I called him and asked if he would mind cutting the grass this week. He said he would get dressed and come over. He did come over and we had the opportunity to talk. He shared with me how upset all 6 of the grandchildren are because of the estrangement and none of them understand it. He said at every holiday celebration or birthday party all of them always ask "Is Gramma coming?" I asked what response they get and he said their Moms say "I don't know." I explained to him I never knew when, where or what time these celebrations are. Also said their is an element of fear within me because I do not want my appearance to create any further hostility and there is a fear of rejection all over again. He said "Gramma we all want you there and there would only be 2 who would be mad you and what do you care the rest of us miss you very much." The Lord was speaking to me through my GS - absolutely.
My GS will be going to the east coast for a few months this summer to spend time with my youngest daughter, SIl and GD and search out colleges. I asked him if he would please come see me before and he said yes and if Mom & aunt have a dinner for him he would call me and invite me because I want you there Gramma. he also told me for one of my GD's Bday in June he wants me to come even if he isn't there. He said she would be so happy if you come. We continued to talk and talked a lot about Grandpa since his death and reminised about lots of wonderful memories with Grandpa. Before he went out to cut the grass he came over to me and said "Gramma you need a hug." and he hugged me so warmly and again the tears started.
This is a lot for me to consider, but I will pray for the Lord's guidance on appearing at these celebrations. It has been my belief all along that the GC should not be used to hurt me. whatever issues my EDs have with me should not spill over to the GC - they should not also be punished.
My therapist also told me he believed it will be through the GC that a healing will begin and based on my visit yesterday I believe he is correct.
My the Spirit of the Lord embrace each of you today.
Praying for all of us
