I enjoyed this meditation on the willingness to surrender.
"Isn't surrendering giving up and isn't it an all or nothing act? If we have the willingness to surrender, God will take us the rest of the way. Surrendering without help from God isn't easy.
The gifts we receive from surrendering are many. Its never a defeat to surrender an argument, to detach from the struggle of a stranglehold someone has on us. Detachment can be something as simple as walking away from a discussion that has no solution or excusing ourselves from a situation that is out of control. Detachment doesn't mean we no longer love the person we might need to walk away from. It simply means that nothing good is coming out of the communication we are having right now and rather than escalate it, we want to do what would please God. Being quiet is seldom the wrong choice".
Today, I will surrender my estranged love one to God's perfect plan for his life and to God's perfect timing.

In the things that you list that we should turn over to God, they are all things we really do not have control over and so we should surrender those things to God. The important thing about those things in our lives that we need to walk away from, detach, or excuse ourselves from is having the “wisdom” to know that no good is coming from our efforts to fix them and that it is time to “be still and know that God is God” and that He has all power. To me, it does not mean that we should not do things that we have been given the power to do, but to have the wisdom to know when we are taking the power away from God.
