My husband is not the bio father of my ES, but we have been together since my ES was 5 years old. My hubby pretty much raised my 2 older boys with me. He has always been a good dad to them, but treated them differently from his 2 bio kids. I hate to admit this, but part of the reason I wont let my ES move home is because my husband doesn't want him to. Since the beginning of this whole nightmare, my hubby has been unemotional & somewhat detached from me the situation with my ES. It has caused us to argue more than a few times. I think if this had happened to one of his bio sons, he would be more supportive. I was hoping someone could share their "step" relationship issues/experiences. I have found myself resenting my husband for being so unemotional & unsupportive.
I do not think she has a teeny tiney chance with him...the grandkids do even though he is a step grandfather.
And perhaps men beleive that young men need to grow up and become men...the head of a household or at least responsible for themselves and quit being at moms apron strings. It does not sound like your son is in a true life crisis...remember you even said he just wanted a vacation and someone to "mother him".
I would not borrow trouble by assuming that your DH would treat his sons different in the exact same situation...cause you dont know...that is trying to foretell the future and it makes you feel bad even though you are just imagining and supposing.
