I was not commputer for about a week due to person hacking in it, but i have it back now. Before thiis happenend i was talking about my one son and dil we are still taking babysteps, my dil came over first time in since mothersday, she came by herself and glad she did,she hugged me so tight and cried me and dh talked with her for over 2hr and it was a calm visit and nice.Laughed a little,cried a little,she told us they all are ready to come home its been almost a year since the fire,she said there was going to be alot of changes when they get home,we didnt ask anything and we have desided not to ask them anything at least try very hard not to and so far so good.My dil told us our son wants to find a church and she was shocked so they will be trying to do that God works in mysterious ways. So i found my son Bible and gave it to her to give to him.We aregoing slow and we are backing off this is there life not mine,ihave asked God to please help me overcome this and i think he is, we are giving them there space but we are still careful with our feelings.

Hugs to you. A year ago when my husband was diagnosed with cancer our ES came back; then my husband passed and now my ES tries very hard to keep in touch with me and I get to see my granddaugther but my DIL has not become distant again. She was very huggy and sweet during the funeral and awhile after but I could see her pulling away. I just hope she doesn't pull my son away again.

The hardest for me is to not ask questions. I want to understand why they estranged but everyone tells me not to say anything for fear of losing them.

At least we have this site to share our feelings. I am so glad your DIL came alone to visit with you and your son wants to find a church. Blessings to all of you.

edr, that is a wonderful breakthrough. Praise the Lord. Keep praying that you will allow the Lord to continue to work in His timing. I am preaching to myself. I tend to want to run ahead of God's ways at times.

Norske, I tend to agree at this time with not asking why they estranged. If I recall, you had mentioned your DIL had started things? Sometimes there is two steps forward and one step backward. I pray your son will stand strong in his relationship with you. He lost so much already. All of our EC have. God bless you.

It is so nice to beable to write something a little positive,and feel a little lighter in my mind,heart and around feel a little peace right now. Do you notice i use the word "little" baby steps and thank all of you for your support on this journey.

Baby steps is the key. You're starting the relationship over again. The past needs to stay in the past. I have questions too, but I don't want to make it too hard on my daughter. I remind myself that God doesn't remind me of my sins. I don't need to do it to others. It's hard to have the questions though. Maybe in time the answers will come out.

You forget how it feels to have a little peace in your mind. Oh yes, i wish i could ask questions but i wont and dont think i ever will, I would be afraid i still dont trust them and will feed them with a long handled spoon. I am going to enjoy what ihave right now, and sleep with one eye open. My dh and myself have started walking around our little 55+ community in the morning as the sun rises,my dh only walkes a short distance i walk further and as i walk by myself thats my time with God and i talk and thank him and i spend that time for him andme andi really enjoy it. So i never walk alone.
