Sitting here waiting to see if my son is still ali

My youngest hasn't answered our phone calls or texts for 2 days. We called for another welfare check. Just sitting here waiting to see if he is ok. I have had that sick feeling in my gut for the last week again. When we talked to him on Monday, he sounded better that he had before. He was making plans to straighten his life out. I am praying to God that he is ok. I cant take much more of this. I am totally breaking down, physically & spiritually.

I am so, so sorry, and I am praying that your son is okay.

Oh Gordos! When did you make the call for the welfare check? Did they give you a timetable for how long it could take for them to get back to you? I am praying right now for all of you. The not knowing has got to be absolutely the worst thing for any mother.
gordos4
They didn't give us a timetable, but it's been over an hour. I hate being this far away from him. God is giving me a feeling of comfort right now. I have been feeling for over a year that God has been "preparing" me for something bad & big. I don't know what I will do if he kills himself. Thank you for the prayers.

Dear Gordos4. Although I have been auditing the site, I haven't been commenting until now. I am praying for you and for your son. May God's peace rest on you and may your faith sustain you now and forever. Blessings.

Any news on your son gordos? Praying for you.

Any news.....we have had 3 suicides in our family in the past 10 years so I know how devastating that would be and I pray he will not take that route.......I pray for strength for you .......let us know when you find out anything..
gordos4
Thank you sadmom. He was ok, as ok as he can be. He said he just didn't feel like answering phone calls or texts. It's almost like he is trying to punish us. At this point I am just waiting for the next phone call. I wish he wasn't 500 miles away. I feel so helpless. I feel like we should be doing something, but don't know what. I don't think I can take one more scare or drunken phone call. He says he is trying to work through it. I am skeptical & am afraid he is still drinking.

I am so thankful to hear he is safe.

So glad for you that he is ok this time. One of our ESs was like this last year and just changed quite drastically when he met a girl. I don't know if it is permanent or temporary but it was very unexpected and we didn't expect such a big change so quickly. I don't know if a relationship will do it for your son (it still makes us nervous that ESs sobriety probably depends on her) but I'll pray that your son will have a sudden awakening and change - most hopefully brought about by turning to the Lord. In the meantime, it is exceedingly stressful. Hang in there. God bless.

chocolate, than you. Actually, his meltdown came as the result of a breakup. He only dated this girl for 2 weeks & said he was in love. She broke it off & he totally lost it. I hope he goes to the doctor & gets an AD soon. I wish I knew what to do.

We keep praying he will seek out the right help.
