Most of you know my daughter left home July 2011 to be with a man she met on the internet. She shut me completely out of her life. She moved over 500 miles away and left most of her belongings and friends behind. She cut off contact with anyone that opposed her idea. At the time she was 25 and he was 39.
The estrangement ended in February of this year when she was eight months pregnant. I was there for the birth of my first grandchild in March and tried to keep my real feelings inside. I have avoided providing her any financial support in an effort to force her back home and it appears to have worked. At the end of October she asked to move back in with me in December. Honestly, inside I wasn't sure how well that arrangement would really work. I had been talking to her dad during this estrangement about how if she came back it would be better for everyone if she lived with him. We decided not to say anything until she was back in the state and then let her know where she would be living.
Two weeks ago my daughter informs my ex that her baby daddy FORBIDS her to live with me so she is moving in with him. [thank you] She still hasn't told me that she is going to his house but perhaps she knows we communicate? We are heading up next weekend to pick her up and move the baby furniture back here. (both my ex husband and I will be going with our new "spouses" and my youngest daughter is taking a few days off from college to go with us) The next step is estrangement from baby daddy which I think will just be a matter of time.
This saga is almost over. I pray for everyone that is in this group every night that they will also reconcile with their children and it will be done in a loving way and not over a tragedy.
As I am celebrating this victory I was given bad news from the doctor last week.... I have Hepatitis C. Really? How much more can I take? This life has been one struggle after another, each time I am down in the valley I climb to the top of the hill only to be knocked off my feet. I am not at the bottom of the hill rather I am sitting near the top. The view isn't quite as good here and although it is easier for go down the hill than up I will once again climb to the top and stand victoriously.
I go see a liver specialist on Wednesday and will find out how much damage this virus has done to my liver. (this is considered a shameful disease as it is often BUT NOT ALWAYS linked to drug use) Please say a prayer for me - that my liver be healthy and my virus inactive. I could be part of the 1% that clears this on their own!

I have offered up prayer for your medical health and will continue to keep you in my prayers for healing from this awful virus. Hang on to God......and keep us posted.
I was wondering if they mentioned the term Auto-Immune Hepatitis? My mother was diagnosed with that a couple of months ago and is playing musical medicine. Her age (80) works against her sadly but we can pray. You will be in my prayers.
As for the HCV, I have an appointment with one of the top doctors offices in the state on Wednesday. I hope to get more answers then. At this point all I know is that I am reactive.
The recommendation is that everyone born between 1945 and 1965 have a one time test for HCV as there are no symptoms until damage has occurred. Please ask your doctors to add that on to your blood tests during your routine physical (that is not a test they will normally run)
