CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I do agree with forgottenmom about being busy. Work for me is tiring but is a blessing. Please try to add one thing to your life (possibly attend a Bible Study). Distraction for the mind is a blessing.

I, too, think it's good to be busy. Sometimes that's the hardest thing to do is to take care of my responsibilities. I just want to sit down and look at them instead of do them! But, it is much better when I do stay busy with them.
Praying for your parents, that all is well and your Mom has a speedy recovery, 89, God Bless Her, and please take care of you. Think positive, and get 8 hrs of sleep...
~ Been there done that with the airport nightmares flying from California to Boston and back 4 times in one year due to Probate Court issues. That ended my desire to ever fly in a plane again. I would prefer to hike to California in the future if necessary! LOL
~ Praise God for your parents safety in the wreck! But cars are replaceable, your parents aren't. Wouldn't this be a GREAT learning lesson for our EK's if we were able to use your parents experience to teach them a valuable truth - our lives can end at any time.
~ During our married life we have had to put down 2 poodles and 4 cats. The last was 5 years ago and we figured she was about 22. That was the worst! Our cat was "family" by then. I could not go with my DH when he took her to put her down. Bawled my eyes out when that happened because we had just become newly estranged from our son.
~ I too know the feeling of wanting to cry out..."Hey God, I am grateful for what I have, BUT REALLY, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH." I had a pretty rough year once that I will never forget. My sister had a stroke and died on Christmas Day while our son and DIL were visiting from VA. My mother had been in the same hospital my sister was in but on a different floor. Five months later my mom had a stroke on Mother's Day while we were in VA. Rushed home and then she died on my birthday in May. Then our son and DIL became estranged in July of that year. Six months later my brother died on his birthday.
Yes DS, after a series of traumas rest and sleep are a blessing. Shut the doors, go to bed, pull the covers over your head and check out for a while until..... "this too shall pass" has passed!
You need lots of ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) right now!
God Bless,

Putting my little dog down was the last proverbial straw so to speak. She had been with me through everything for the last 16 years (including my divorce).
I wanted to share that I was in a store in my funky mood and an upbeat song came on the radio. I found myself tapping my foot and thought clearly music would be good therapy. (at least the right kind of music)
Thanks again everyone.
Music is therapy to my hurting soul also.
Maybe we could start a music thread, and share some songs that have been helping us?
((hugs))

And your poor parents.
And losing your beloved pets.
I pray it gets better. You deserve a break!
