That is true of many people sad to say. So opposite of the love of God. Isn't it? He gave His all.

So true edr. It was just after I couldn't give anymore money to my ED and SIL, that they completely estranged. I was worth knowing only as long as I gave them money, and helped pay their bills.

Thank goodness Our Lord loves us freely and unconditionally.......

Our ECs are like that. Once they had gotten all they could from us they became rude and disrespectful. They'd only be "nice" again when they wanted something. Took me a long time to see that pattern.

same here,hard to accept but i have to. And how true we know they want something when they call, dh said he saw whatwas going on,and i did to but just thought things could be different.

There was a song out quite a few years ago - forget who sung it, but the main lyrics were, "what have you done for me lately.". I think it was Paula Abdul actually.

Anyway, that is how it felt with my ED's, that I was only as good to them as to what I had done for them lately - they seemed to forget all of the other things I had done for them before. If I could not do for them at any time, they acted like I never did anything for them at all. Sadly, I felt so used by them - they just done want to be with me or near me unless I can do something for them. Sadly, they do not know who their mother really is - they don't know me at all.
