CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I struggled for a few years during & following my divorce from my children's dad ( he had an affair., and after remaining with him throughout, he divorced me.) I was 39 years old, frightened and insecure of how to handle what was happening. He bullied and bullied during the divorce until I believed I had no worth. I realize all these years later, it was all in an effort to break my spirit so I couldn't fight, and he would walk away with everything. It took me many years of praying to forgive him.
He told our children that once he was rid of me, he could afford to buy a boat. My ED fell hook, line and sinker for his game, (him wanting them to stay with him, so he could avoid child support,) and my ED began blaming me for the divorce, even though I remained with her dad for the 10 years of his affair so my children wouldn't experience a broken home.
I hear through the grapevine that she tells people I never did anything for her. Wow....Church, bible study, skating lessons, swimming lessons, tucking them in by myself at night, while her dad was with his girlfriend. I guess that's what she thinks of as nothing.
But, we do have value.......very, very much value!
