Remember this as we travel together through this trial of estrangement. We know as Christians that our adult child's choice to estrange from family is a destructive choice that is contrary to what God wants for families.

Be encouraged by God's promise to us and to our children in Psalm 103 verse 17:

But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him,
His salvation extends to the children's children of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments.

Let us not forget to pray for our EC and to remember that while we do not love their actions towards us, we still love them as does God and He will fulfill his promises.

Thank you, MariaStevie for the reminder of hope we have been given in God's Word....
For many of us the grief has turned to anger for the cruel decision our EC have made to estrange from us. Only temptation from the Great Deceiver would enable our EC to take this bitter road away from us. And, our prayers are the armor we have to protect them and guide them back to us.

Prayer is by far the very best thing we can do for our children and grandchildren. Love them and pray for them.

I so agree with you Maria, brokenmimi and suzie! We must see them as having been deceived by Satan himself. But, we all know and can trust that if they truly are followers of Christ, then Christ knows His sheep and has guaranteed us that he knows who they are and that He will not lose even one of them! For this, I have total faith and trust in HIM!!

Faith is the most important thing of course. Thanks for the hope. Our children have grown up knowing the Lord so I pray they will turn away from the evil one and return to our Lord. Thank you

Let's continue to encourage each other during our trial of estrangement. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen". We are being tested, but we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We can't let anger, resentment and doubt enter our minds. My mind had given up all hope, my faith was shattered with this estrangement, but then I remembered that for God nothing is impossible. We may not see it today, we may not see it tomorrow, we may not even see it in our lifetimes, but God will not forsake his promises to us and to our children and to our children's children.

God said that we are to ask and ask again, knock and the door will be opened, seek and we shall find.

He said that the Prodigal Son was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but then he was found.

Our EC will come alive in Christ, they are lost, but someday they will be found.
