I am so sorry that they have not reached back. I don't believe gs will forget you at all. Your DH is right. We can not change our EC but God can. Let's keep praying and put them in God's hands. Stay strong in the Lord and His Word.

My grandmother died when I was 5 yrs old, but I still remember , especially her love for me. Memories are deep rooted. On the other hand,, don't ask me what I had for dinner yesterday,,,, LOL..

I kept sending little cards, emails, and gifts for awhile too, because it made me feel somewhat better, even though I never got a response, until they became enraged and said no contact at all anymore, and to stop sending anything at all. So I would continue to do what you are doing, until they tell you otherwise. And I pray they don't do to you what mine did to me.

oh i hope our gs wont forget us,i think back of how he would get out of our sons truck and run to me and hug me so hard,and pat my back,wave to his dad and say "by" cause he knew he was staying with us,yes i am going to continue to send him little things until something is said.And i pray that God will soften there hearts,but i dont know,i dont know my son anymore i really think he is brainwashed,dil treats her mom like this she has a sister,that refuses to allow her own mother visitation with her son,so i just assume it runs in the family.

It's so sad when our children act as though someone turned them upside down and shook out all their compassion, respect, and human emotion. It's very surreal.

I pray always, that The Lord will keep my grandchildren's heart's sensitive to me, so they will remember me. I pray that for all of us.

Three years into my total estrangement with my oldest daughter. So very sorry that you are going through this. Our DC's behavior is so painful and confusing..how can we work anything out if they won't talk to us? I think as long as we reach out ,( send cards-gifts-occasional messages) with no expectations, it is good for us because we are desperately trying to be normal. However, the rejection is too much some times and also, what we think are loving actions can be seen by our estranged children as "stalking". Strange, strange times we are all in. We have no choice but to do our best and leave the rest to God. Prayers are with you.

I feel that when the child estranges from us, they have a great feeling of power. They hurt us over and over again. I think when I send cards etc, they are never opened and just thrown in the trash. All we can do is pray and ask God to take our burdens and our hurt.

It is very true. Estrangement is a loss and continued to be so hurtful. We need God's grace each day to accept what we can not understand. It does not make sense. The serenity prayer often comes to mind.
