CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Below are the lyrics to the song...NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US by TODD FIELDS
Verse 1
When the darkness falls we will not be moved
When the storms rage on we will rest secure
For our hope is in this promise: our mighty God is for us.
Chorus 1
Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus
Hell may come against us, our God will prevail
Verse 2
Though the tears may fall, You will hear our cry
On that blessed day, You will wipe our eyes
When the veil is lifted from us our faith will be made sight
Surrounded by Your glory, Your joy will end our night
Chorus 2
Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus
Hell may come against us, our God will prevail
Whatever may befall us, our Savior reigns victorious
Nothing can separate us from His love
Bridge (2x)
Not life, not death, nor any other power
No height, no depth could keep us from Your love
PEACE to you today!
And there is strength in prayer. You are in m prayers.
Prayer has brought me to a healthier place and this Christian site is a wonderful place to be. As I have mentioned before, "detachment" has helped me so much. It allows me to detach from the pain a bit and yet I have not closed the door on the situation. I feel detachment is temporary; our prodigal children will return if we allow God to take care of it.
You are in my prayers Tikva.
Tikva, I think the bond of a mother to child is very different than other human bonds, including the bond of an adult child to a parent, that's not the same bond at all, I think, as a small child for his mother. I think the soul of the child is somehow woven into the fibre of our heart, it feels like that. A man wouldn't have that. And people have no clue as to how great a sorrow it is, and how slow to heal for a mother. I felt no support whatsoever at the church I went to when things were close to unbearable. It was just as lonely going to church as when I was home and never left. People do want to judge, and find a responsible party. If more then one child is involved, the mother is at risk of being considered at fault. No use in looking to people, only to God. That's what He was showing me. I think there is some support to be found here, though.
I cry daily, but it's a very bearable sadnes, and passes away fast, by the grace of God. Without pain, I'd probably never pray. if I had everything in order, all set, going well, no worries, loved by my kids, etc, I'd probably never pray! He knows me, and I know I'm a mule in some ways. I do think all broken bonds of love are due to satan, and I also know that God uses suffering for good in those who love and rely on Him.This is how I realized that He will use this for my good (I noticed positive changes in myself) and very likely for the good of my C, though I don't ever expect to understand how or when, in them. This perspective made the situation more bearable for me. What we think is really important, guard your thoughts.
