My youngest son just called to say "hi" & talk. He is such a sweet, considerate young man. He will be 21 in less than 2 weeks. I give him money to help him out now & then & he is the ONLY one who worries about paying me back. I tell him "the fact that you are wanting to pay me back means more to me than the money itself". When I talk to him or my other 2 boys, I realize I wasn't such a bad mom after all. It sort of gives me validation for any positive feelings I have about my mothering.

One mom told me, don't wait for them to call, bc they wont remember to find the time. Just call them It will be ok...You are loved.....
There are good children in today's world. Let's focus on them and not the ones that are, hopefully, just temporarily lost.
Sarahsma, I think it is a mothers instinct to put her young ones first, they need us! I have been reading the bible a lot more than I ever have & God is clear on one thing: you are to cling to your husband, become one, put him first". I don't know of one mother who DIDNT put her children first. Now that my kids are grown & gone, it was hard at first to be alone with my hubby. We had grown apart & didn't have much to say to each other. It is getting better all the time, & we actually communicate now, over things other than the kids.
Norske1-I know what you mean! You were a good mamma too, & so was I. Our EC will one day have their eyes opened!
