So my oldest son told me that my ES texted him last night to tell him they are inducing my DIL and that baby will be born today. Earlier this fall my oldest son had told my ES that he needed to swallow his pride and stop this stupid estrangement, and then my ES promptly stopped talking to him. But for whatever strange reason, he has begun to reach out to him a little bit. And then this morning he texted my husband to tell him, too. My husband called to tell me that. So I looked on my phone, but nope, nothing. So I texted him, "I am thinking of you today" to see what he would do....and nothing. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled he is reaching out to them, yet I would be lying if I didn't say it hurt me that he won't speak to me. I just don't get it. Anyway, grandson #4 will be here sometime today.

I'm sorry that ES is excluding you from these important changes in his life, and messaging those around you. I understand exactly how you feel, my ED does the very same thing. I'm used to it after 5 years......

I pray The Lord will soften your ES heart, and let you welcome and enjoy your new grandchild.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and well wishes. The baby was born at 6:55 pm (while I was in Bible study!). Sadly, my ES did not send me any word of his birth nor a picture, but he DID sent one to my oldest son and my husband. He is a beautiful baby and my biggest grandchild to date. He weighed in at 7 pounds 13 ounces. My other three were 7.11, 6.15, and 6.1, so he is the biggest. My fourth grandson. Of course my husband immediately forwarded the picture to me (my husband is out of town) and so I showed it to my youngest son who is still home from college, and he said, "Well we probably won't ever see him". I had to go to the other room to weep in private. I feel joy, yet so much sadness. Bittersweet is the word, I guess. Please continue to pray that God can sort this mess out and soften his heart. Thank you!

Poodlegirl1....I am so sorry that you have been excluded from the joy of welcoming your new grandson into this world....I truly hope and pray that God will change the dynamics of your family and bring peace and joy to all of you, individually and collectively. God bless and heal your precious family....Stay strong and keep your faith in Christ.......He will never leave you.

I truly know how you feel. Be thankful that at least you are aware of your precious grandson's arrival into the world. My dear husband and I were not told about our newest grandson until our gs was over six weeks old.
May God have mercy on our estranged adult children...may He give us peace in our hearts because we can trust Him to watch over these precious babies He created. The Lord God will intervene and help us understand why we are being left out of our grandchildren lives. He surely has a purpose in all of our heartache...If anything to draw us closer to Him and to trust God knows everything and we will be granted His comfort through it all.
Another little boy born...we have been given the ultimate task of praying for their souls...even if they are never properly introduced to us....God knows them well...

Thank you everyone. My husband and I have decided we will wait til spring and make the trip (they live in another state) to see the new baby, as well as the 18 month old which we haven't seen in a year. We have decided we will not go to their apartment, but stay in a hotel and call my son and tell him we would love to see the babies, and if he would come over, maybe we could all go to dinner or something. If he refuses, then we will simply stay the night in the hotel, and leave the next morning. We do not want to see the DIL, however. If he won't come without her, then so be it, we won't be rude to her. We will be polite but that's it. I am truly convinced she has a demon, and I am scared of her, but I won't be rude to anyone. She told me back last January (after the fake divorce and they took our money) that she didn't want to be my friend anymore, but we could be cordial for the sake of the babies. That sounds fine to me.

It sounds like the Lord has led you and DH to a good plan. It would be wonderful if both ES and DIL would want peace when you go for the visit. God bless this new baby.
