What a fun night Ive had..my ES sent me 6 loooonnnnggg texts, explaining to me what a "b" I was growing up, & an unfit mother. He admitted he stole, but said he was under the influence of his anti-anxiety meds. He said "If I wanted you afraid of me, you would be, I make sure of it". I asked him the name of his psychiatrist when he was here for the funeral & found her on the internet. I was told they cant even tell me IF he is a patient there because of HIPA. I am so glad we are changing our locks & adding a dead bolt to our back entrance.
Has anyone else on here ever felt so intimidated & scared of your own child?

I'm so sorry to hear about your son and his attitude. I have never felt intimidated by any of my children, but the man my ED married I stay clear of. I have many friends who learned the hard way that the law is not on their side when it comes to our kids and violence. It is good your ES is not living in your home anymore. Save your texts (I transcribe mine before they can get automatically deleted when my inbox is too full) in case you need them as evidence for a restraining order. Document everything that happens with date and time if you can. None of us can see the future and though it may seem extreme to do things like this now, I have learned it is better to be safe than sorry. I keep a special journal to keep track of how events have unfolded including my emotional state at the time. My memory fails me sometimes, but I can always look back and recall events with it. It is not for revenge, as some people think, it is for self-preservation. Take care of yourself and may God be at your right hand.

I have been afraid of my other older son. He has been in and out of drug rehab and the psych. hospital for the past 15 years. I still won't visit him at his apt. alone and I have to be very careful when and if I do let him in our house. He is unpredictable. He went on a rampage and tore up my house one time and also tore to pieces my parents home before they died. He stole my father's car and sold it for drug money. My parents were afraid of him too. My father said before he died that he was sorry but he was glad not to have to worry about him anymore. It broke my heart. Prayers for you and what you all you are having to cope with.

Sorry gordos, No matter what the reason we can not accept stealing from our EC without holding them accountable. We forgive but they must admit they did wrong. Right?

After our ED left home she told dangerous lies about us. Truth was twisted and enablers may or may not have believed her or didn't care what was true. Yes we feared what could happen early on in the estrangement for our well-being specially that of my DH.

Please be wise for the well-being and that of your home.

God protects those who protect themselves and God helps those who help themselves...I dont think God meant for any of us to be worried or put up with threats or theivery from anyone even our own children.JMO

If a friend sent you those texts...you would be calling the police...at least I would...what price are you willing to pay just because he is your son?

Every serial murderer out there was someones child...evil does exist in this world...

I answered your other post then saw this........get an alarm system, dont see him alone, I would think about a restraining order... He is your son.... But your safety comes first.......
