CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
TD Jakes has influenced many that is for sure!
Have a super Thanksgiving tomorrow!
God Bless!
However, letting go of any one of the above things are not as easy as this sounds. When someone is deep into anything at all, like depression, simply saying to someone "Let It Go" seems to be quite trite. I know. I have said it and again do believe it is the right thing to do, but I don't think it should be said as an end all - it's too much like a cliche' today.
I know how hard I tried to give up smoking cigarettes years ago. Every morning I woke up, that was going to be the day I gave it up. But someone who is addicted to something simply cannot put it down never to return.
When I finally gave it up, it was because the Good Lord showed me that I was not in control of my life. Cigarettes determined what I did 24/7. If I wanted to go to a Bible study, I first asked how long it was going to be. If it was any more than an hour, I did not go. Telling me to simply "Let it go" would have sounded so trite at that time. It took the work of the Holy Spirit to convince me that I had to get my priorities in order that finally gave me the strength to stop. Even then, it took me a full year before I began to go through a day without wanting to smoke again. "Letting Go" truly was not that easy.
