My son was married this weekend. I wasn't invited. I wasn't even acknowledged. In fact he had his father's girlfriend light the mothers candle. What a blow. Was probably the last one I could take.
15 years ago I left his father. Him and his sister were young teenagers at the time. I know this had an affect on them because of their age. Both the children wanted to stay with their father because I moved 800 miles away and they didn't want to do that so I left them make that choice and I tried to stay in contact with them. In the meantime their father decide to have a girlfriend move in. This woman was evil! She would actually intercept my phone calls to my children! At one point she told me I will never have a relationship with my kids. Long story short ..she was an alcoholic and eventually moved out. Damage already done.
My daughter then got involved with a man and drugs. she fled her father's and came to live with me. That was a rough ride for both of us and she did end up in a group home of awhile but we have a stable loving relationship now with 2 lovely grand babies which I adore.
I. The meantime my son grew I to a man that I hardly new. I tried to remain in contact with him, but the lines were so badly damaged between us it was hard. He kept walking further and further away. I do believe he has been told many of untrue things but what else I new. His birthday was I. August of this year. I sent him happy birthday wishes and got thank you mom back. That was the last time I heard from him. I have tried to call and text and he doesn't respond. 10 months from that last text he is married and I was left out completely. He also left out his sister. In fact she is 27 and he hasn't talked to her since she was 13. My son is 30.
That's some of the background.....and I am just miserable. All I can keep thinking is how can a son be so cruel. I know I have done things wrong in the past....and have told him so and apologized for anything I may have done to cause him pain. I just don't get it. What is wrong with people that causes them to i flirt so much pain on others?
So I am trying to move on with my life and forget him. That is very difficult for my heart. As a mom it is crying with so much pain but I know God has a plan for me, I just don't know what it is yet. I am trying to tell myself that it is his loss, not mine as I have tried many times to fix this awful thing.

Thank God for your loving daughter and your grandchildren...remember to celebrate and enjoy the ones who love you..for her and your 2 grandkids you are truly blessed...many of us here have no other children to turn to or share our love with...
Let your son go if he chooses to walk away and change from your grief and time spent on him...into loving ...enjoying...your daughter and grandkids who are there.

Alienation of innocent children is a big problem all over this country unfortunately.
There needs to be laws to stop these kind of people from making Alienation of Children a crime. Each parent should have to take courses in PAS and the devastating effects on children BEFORE divorce is granted IMHO.
Do you know your DIL at all? Maybe with time she will encourage your son to contact you and his sister. But like others said, enjoy your daughter and grandchildren. They are a blessing.

GuelsMom I do agree that this alienating has to stop. It is nothing but revenge on the other persons part.
