CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
It would take a book to write all of the mean, underhanded things she's done to me through the years. Although I've not had any kind of relationship with her for 42 years (since I was 17 years old) she has always been lurking in the shadows of my life, as I go along minding my own business. Just like this writer described, since I had no real contact with my older sister, when I gave birth to my second daughter, when my sister found out what I had named her, she replied, "but I was going to name my baby that!". I was so puzzled by her reaction - like, "she never told me that.". She recently turned 64 and never had children.
Other underhanded things she did to me were:
She conspired with our other oldest sister, who did live near me, who was my matron of honor, to show up at my wedding wearing the same color dress as mine, and in all of the wedding photos, this other sister, never smiled, but purposely pouted in every one of them. When we had a small reception back at our home, this sister went back to change our of her dress (so she could return it) and put on the most ugly sweater she owned and came back to the house wearing it, so that is what the photos show. This sister also gave me as a wedding gift, some beat up old glass platter (from her coveted collection so she said), with scratches in the glass n' all.
Then the middle sister, (the jealous one) spread a rumor in the family that I married my husband for his money! My husband laughed at that one and said, "what money?". Thing is, she did marry and stay married for money - she is in a loveless marriage of over 30 years due to the amazing wealth of her husband and the lifestyle she's accustomed to. So she totally deflected her own feelings on to me.
The latest thing this sister did, was refuse my offer to take care of our aging mother, but instead two weeks before she died, she shipped my mother off, by ambulance, to the oldest sister (whom she has since fallen out with). She drained our mother's bank account dry and when my Mom was almost out of money, she sent my mother away where she died in a strange state in a strange nursing home - out of spite to her other two sisters.
As far as my mother's will goes - my sister usurped my Mother's will, by passed my Mother's attorney and has since dispersed any inheritance I may have received, as she sees fit - even to relatives not in my Mother's will.
The last thing this sister has done, is, when my mother died, she co-opted my youngest daughter and turned her against me (the one she said had the name she wanted to name her baby). This sister has never had anything to do with my daughters, but now that my sister is alone because she has alienated everyone, she went after my oldest sister's daughter (my niece) to try and turn her against her mother, but this niece saw right through her, and she moved onto my daughters. The trouble began with my youngest daughter after she connected with this evil sister when our mother died.
42 years later and this evil sister is STILL conniving behind my back and has disrupted my relationships with my own children and grandchildren.
I'm sick about it.
