CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

Things with my son seemed to be improving. A few phone calls here and there. Texts every so often. Even two visits that went well. However, Mother's Day came and went..no call, no text. I texted him the day after and told him I missed him and wished I had been able to see him. Still nothing! I've. Been dealing with this for over 3 years now and I'm done! I can't keep getting my hopes up only to have them smashed by my selfish son! It's not so much his fault as the paternal grandparents and aunt! They have put lies into his head and I am so angry!! Feeling hopeless

I have a similar situation with my son. We were completely estranged (no phone calls, no texts, no nothing) for 18 months, then shockingly he just showed up at my door the Saturday night before Memorial Day. He acted like nothing had ever happened! I was so happy, although I was trying not to get my hopes up. Well since then I have not heard one word. I texted him telling him how happy I was to see him, and how much I loved him, and I have not gotten any response. I am still grateful to God I got to see him at all, and I have just decided to let Him handle all of this. I know I may not hear from him again for another 18 months, and that is ok. He also has been filled with lies from the woman he chose to marry. She is pure evil. But I pray every day for my son, and my two grandchildren (one whom I have never met). Please don't feel hopeless. There is always hope. God hears our prayers.

I am sorry for pain you have experienced through estrangement. We hope and pray that one day our EC will see truth and become grateful for all their parents have done for them. God bless you with God's peace.

Thanks everybody! I'm in counseling now, but it's not helping much. I can't get past the total betrayal of his grandparents. I could have taken my son when his dad died when he was 8 and left the state, but I felt it would be beneficial beneficial for him to have a relationship with them...since they lost their only son. What do I get in return?!? They take him away and turn him against me! His only living parent!!

And my only son!

I hear your frustration and grief. It's good to have a place to vent. Treasure the time you had and try to place him back in God's hands. God's still working.
