CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
God is your refuge and strength through this. You cannot do this alone, and through this, the Lord promises that He will not leave nor forsake you.
We cannot control our children--all we can do is control our reactions. He's in a bad place spiritually-- you can pray and leave him in God's hands.
I'm so sorry this is happening.
You need to look after yourself first. God is able to deal with your son. Please go speak to a counsellor, pastor, anyone who is qualified to help you deal with this. If you fall apart you will be in no position to help your son when he does hit rock bottom. It is not selfish to let him go, it is a matter of self-preservation. In the end, your son will need a healthy mother.
Holy Father, we lift up to you Gordos and her family. We pray specifically that you will create a way that the son will realize he needs help and will reach out for it. We pray that you will comfort Gordos and her DH. Lord, please give them the wisdom and courage to move forward. Make it clear to them what you want them to do, and soothe a mothers breaking heart. Father we place this family at the foot of the throne of grace and trust you Lord. In the precious name of your son, Jesus we pray. Amen
You can not change this situation. Your ES must want to change. The worst thing we can do according to the experts in the field of alcohol and drug abuse (my 3rd son a few years ago) is to enable them. They must come to it on their own. We can pray they do.
