I need prayer

Yesterday was my ES's 31st birthday. I called his cell phone and left a message wishing him Happy Birthday and saying that his dad and I would love to have him, DIL and their little one come to the lake or if they want meet for lunch. If not, at least we wanted to say Happy Birthday and that we love him.

I did this knowing 100% that he would NOT respond; I just wanted him to hear my voice.

All that said, I didn't realize how sad I would be after hearing his voice "this is [ES], leave a message."

Please keep me in your prayers. I have been crying since last night and don't know how to stop.

Norske....I have done the same thing in the past so I know how you feel. You are definitely in our prayers. Perhaps he will, by God's grace, respond to the offer in a positive way.

Sorry for your Motherly pain. God bless you for leaving the vm that you were led to leave. Let's pray that he be convicted to respond.

Our ED has ignored my reaching outs to get together and even to see her grandmother. I think she needs to hit bottom before there will be a heart change.

I really was 100% ready to leave the message; but what I hadn't prepared for was when I went into voicemail, I would hear his voice identifying himself and asking to please leave a message. It was like turning the clock back six years to when the fighting all started.

I cried my heart out this morning, my DH just hugged me and didn't know what to say. Once I cried it out, I felt better and now I think I am doing okay. Thanks to all of you who really understand.

I am so sorry for your pain. Hearing your es voice would bring on the tears. This use to happen to me whenever I called any of my 3 eds and got voicemail. Because of this I do not call them anymore and am beginning to heal - still sad and love each of them, but have more peace everyday.

In one of the books I have read on the grieving process while in the throws of grieving for my late husband it was stated that "tears say what words cannot and they are very healing." I believe this to be true. My prayers are with you.
