CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
PRAY PRAY PRAY and trust that someday there will be an answer.
I am sorry that you are here because of estrangement. I wish there was a magic answer, but don't think there is.
There will always be reminders, which cause us to be sad for a time, but the main thing is to take care of YOU. We have no control over our EC, regardless of the situation. They are adults and are free to make their own decisions. Most of them are wrong decisions because they are running away from the problems but we must let them go. In time they may wake up and return but we have to carry on in the meantime. There have been many on this site whose children have been gone for various times (some for months and some for years) who have reconciled. Just keep in mind that should they EC return, future relationships would be different and yet, sometimes for the better. Hopefully they would be for the better because both EC and you will have grown through the process.
You are extremely hurt and it is normal to miss your EC and what was. It is important that you take care of yourself. Keep posting your feelings and thoughts. It really helps to get it out and have others input and support to know how they have dealt with things.
Hopefully, your childen will wise up and realize what he/she has missed or thrown away. We can't force it.
Just take care of yourself, find things and people that you enjoy. You miss your e/c, but not the bad behavior, right? Take one day at a time, baby steps, and move on with your life. Hopefully, e/c will come back when the time is right. We just can't force it. Yes, they have to realize that family is important but only God knows when that will be.
You will find the support here to help you through this pain you are going through. You are not alone in this. Stick with us and you will uncover a lot wisdom from those who have walked down the same path you are on and you will find a great deal of strength to move on with your life.
God Bless,
GuelMom
I appreciated GuelsMom's words's of wisdom saying "In the meantime, we must carry on". We can only carry on with God's help, one day at a time. He will bring healing to our souls. This support group is a special place to be as we seek to heal and "carry on".
God bless us all.
