CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
And my ratio isn't even as good as yours.
Your mother was wrong.
Our EC made poor choices. The world is evil and the enemy is strong but God is stronger. He can change hearts and bring our EC to Him in His own way. We keep praying.
Until that time, we can have thankful hearts for the many blessings in our lives.
This verse shows us the bigger picture of the microcosm of our own lives. Just as not all humans God created will honor Him, not all of our own flesh and blood will honor their parents. With God as our Heavenly Father (parent) some will live for Him, but so many more will not. It helps to know this so we can see that God understands how we feel by showing us in this verse that even God's heart was deeply troubled!" (And God knew all along many of whose He created would be "screw ups").
All of our woes would be nil if everyone ever born would just simply honor and love God and turn from their wicked ways, because if they did, then parents would be respected and honored by ALL of their children as well. Our children are not rebelling towards us, but towards God, first and foremost!.
One thing I have to keep reminding myself over and over again is that God is not done writing the story of my life - so many chapters have yet to be written; He sees and knows what I cannot see and know and that is where my faith needs work to trust Him more with how this all turns out with my own daughters.
Maybe this will help us to keep our situations in perspective.
Shalom,
MG
