CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I had a dream of Jesus & Mary
gordos4
I had a dream that I was walking down a long hallway in a HUGE building. I sensed that I had died, & was confused about where I was, & if I was going to heaven (which I wonder about alot). I kept walking & saw a brightly lit room at the end. I started up a small flight of stairs. All of a sudden, I felt a hand grasp my right, then left hand. I looked to my right & there was Jesus, & to my left was The Virgin Mary. They were both surrounded with light, & they both smiled at me & said "dont worry, we will take care of you, come this way". We proceeded down the hall & then I woke up. I could actually FEEL thier hands grasping mine, & could feel the love & acceptance. I know alot of people will just say "it was only a dream". A nun told me once that your dreams come from God & a spiritual dream is a great gift. That was the BEST dream ive ever had. IVe always been a vivid dreamer, & have had several spiritual dreams, I will tell about them if anyone is interested. I wanted to share this with you all.

Thank you jennslee & shatteredmom. I had a very rough childhood & have always felt my guardian angel was watching over me. I had an older sister who died when she was 6 weeks old. I have always believed she died so she could be my guardian angel. When I was in kindergarten ,we laid down to take a nap. I had a dream that my sister came to me as an angel (her name was Janet). She had the wings & long white robe, with light shining all around her. She told me " I will always take care of you, dont worry", She knew what kind of chaos I was in for with our mother. My mom was bi-polar, alcoholic & was suicidal most of her life. She left us when I was 8. I always wondered why my mom was the way she was. I asked God to give me a dream about her. About 8 years ago, I had a dream I WAS my mom, & felt all the hopelessness, despair & utter sadness she was feeling. It was a long & depressing dream. At the end of it, a big booming voice said "now you dont have to wonder anymore, you can forgive her & move on". To this day, I think that was God speaking to me in my dream. I also have alot of dreams I can fly, & in one dream, I flew to the Holy Land & was able to see where Jesus walked. I came to a large church & there was a stone tablet on the front. I flew up to it, & saw my name etched into it. That nun told me if you dream you can fly, it is a good sign & a gift also. I had one experience in particular when I was 7. When I told my sisters, they said it was all a dream, but I know better. I dont want anyone on here to think I am a nut, so I wont share that publicly. I worry alot about going to heaven, maybe that's why I have these dreams? Thank you for listening. ((hugs to all)) Nancy

I don't think you are crazy and I believe you. I think it is wonderful that you have this comfort in your life. Also it is sad to read what has happened to you.

What a great dream! Given the rough background you describe, I would recommend an excellent book by Dr. Henry Cloud and John Townsend called "Boundaries". They are Christian psychologists who have done a lot of good work in the area of families and healing. Look for the original - they have written several spin-offs like "Boundaries in Marriage," "Boundaries in Dating," "Boundaries with Children" etc. after their first book "Boundaries" proved wildly successful. I read the book after estranging from most of my family and inlaws, and it helped to me immensely to understand all the tension in our family, forgive, change my own parenting techniques, and rebuild a healthy relationship with many family members from whom I had been estranged.
