CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Sometimes a shallow relationship is more tiring...takes more effort.
When in doubt of your next moves just sit and rock and let your mind and soul commune with God and be at peace while the answer comes...it always will.

I would take it as meeting your dad for the first time. Forget everything from the past. Start to get to know him now. The person he is now.
Someday if my daughter and I get to reconcile, I know it will be like getting to know each other all over again. I'm sure she would want her past forgiven and forgotten.
Thanks again everyone for the very sound advice. I've been working hard to mitigate my negative feelings and so far we have exchanged a couple of pleasant emails. Slow and steady....
Rosearch I happen to think you are spot on and have done vast research into NPD and he ticks every box. However I'm trying not to 'label' as I might bias others trying to help me improve my approach, and possibly restrict my view of him and ability to be gracious. All things are possible through Christ.
Thanks all.
