It sounds like you gave your gs a wonderful day and you shared special moments. I think that is just the right amount of time. It is too bad that your DIL did not show appreciation. Do not let that rob the joy of your day.

Your DIL is going to be a problem no matter what you do. At least you can spend time with your GS. Be thankful for that then let the ignorance of DIL go. It's not worth the aggravation. I would gladly not talk to GF or any of her family if I could just see my GC. Choose the happy and good times and don't concern yourself with anything else.

yes we have talked bout just enjoy what we have.Cause we surely do enjoy him.

I totally agree with whyonlychild...who cares who met you at the door or who does not seem grateful.

I would love to spend any time with my grandson or even just hear his voice or get a picture. It has been three years since I saw him or talked to him he was 8 years old that summer.

Be grateful for the time any time...its the grandson who is important.

i am sorry if seemed i was not grateful for the time i spend with my GS,and yes he is the important person here but some people dont understand my situation just like i dont know there situation.At any time my Gs could be taken from us also.Its not that i care who comes to the door i could care less,but i was meaning the DIL was upset cause webrought him back to soon for her and if she gets mad at us we dont get to see him.So we try to keep peace.

edr, I understand. Sometimes we all feel like we are walking on eggshells with what we say or what we do. It is difficult. You are doing your best. That is the most we can do with the Lord's help. Some people can not be pleased no matter what we do sad to say.

It sounds like you spent some good quality time with your sweet grandson. Don't let DIL overshadow your day. When my kids were growing up I would have given anything if my kids grandparents had spent a day like that with my kids. My mother was raising my niece and nephew and didn't have time for my kids and my husbands parents couldn't be bothered with any of their grandkids except one granddaughter. It obviously didn't bother my kids or they would be more cooperative in letting us spend time with out grandkids. They must not feel like they missed out on anything.

That was plenty of time. I have had my GS for 7 days, 4 days, 1 day and received the same kind and worse treatment.

We must remember our GK's are temporal gifts. Yes, they can be taken away at any time. Yes, it is a pain in the rear to pick them up or bring them home. But that is our "normal".

How much time? As much as you want to spend, and are able to spend; no more. See what I mean? You're the grandparents, not the hired help.

Since I've been denied seeing my grandson for over 2 years now..ANY time spent with him would be such a joy! I'm sorry to say that I am envious of grandparents who are able to see their grandchildren (even for just one day a year..)since I've been robbed of mine.

I'm not sure how I would respond now if my ES suddenly allowed us back into our lives. It would take time to reconnect. Relationships take time together..time shared. If that time together is cut off..well there's not any relationship at all.

Be glad for any precious time with the gc. Some of us here would be extremely thankful for the some time with them...you are blessed to at least see them occasionally. My ES is so mean, he doesn't even allow any photos of us in their home ?? Therefore, we are deemed "non-existing".

And more cruel..not a single photo of our precious grandson given to us..we are blocked from their FB page, and you have to be on their friends list to see any photos of their son (our 3 yr old grandson).

Some day God will restore our grandson to us..we just don't know when. We did nothing to deserve this poor treatment, neither should our grandchild be robbed of any extra love he would be given by us.

im so sorry if i upset anyone and i am thankful for every second i have with him.I will never to be able to get back the days i have with him.Im sorry for everyones heartache i know ,i went through it with my other son.I pray someday things will change for everyone.Please accept my apology.
