CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

I am already starting to feel down " The Holidays" so much hurt heading our way.My son/dil moved back and it went back to the same old way.I think this is the way it is going to be, my dh and i have been talking and as long as we can see our gs,our son came by the other morning to drop gs off to spend the day with us and dh asked my son a question,he was so rude and my dh was distraught the whole day,our gs birthday is nov12 and his parents has not even mentioned it,has not discussed thanksgiving. So dh and i are going to take gs somewhere for bd,and make a small thanksgiving dinner for the 3 of us he doesnt understand but we do.I wont rock the boat with son/dil.We went yesterday to buy apples, little oranges so i bought some for gs we had to leave them at door of there home and text dil when we left,or our son would pick the fruit up 11pm when he got done work. We are not wanted at there home and it hurts.

I'm sorry for your pain. I am slowly realizing how disposable I am, how unimportant I am in my adult childrens lives. Don't get me wrong I understand they have their own families, I guess I just didn't realize how disposable we would become

Sorry it has to be that way. I am not sure about your DIL but I am glad that you see your gs. That is a blessing.

My dh just was talking that he never would have thought of our son treating, speaking, and pushing us to the side i understand he has his own life and dont expect him to leave or do anything behind his wifes back, but my dh and i have been treated so wrong,we didnt raise him this way its like they have used us up now to the point they cant squeeze anymore juice from us so now they will treat us this way.Myson has always been the one to ask for everything not dil and i told dh he is the silent killer. When she calls, text its for something,

I am so sorry for all of this pain. I am sorry for all of our pain, and it is worse the closer we get to the holidays. It is a blessing you get to see the grandson, though. What gets me through the hard times is thinking about the good things in my life, like the three little grandsons I get to see all the time, and how dear they are, and I try not to dwell on the two I can't see because of the estrangement. That and lots of prayer!

I know what you mean. I'm already starting to feel the depression of the holidays. I wish I could go away and come back on Jan. 4. I have to remind myself it is about the Savior over and over and what he did for me to get through day after day. It sure is hard.
