Our son/family moved into there new home,BUT yes i think its going to go back to the same old treatment again. My son asked if we could watch gs and we did and enjoyed it so we offered to keep him overnight,and the next day i had texted dil 2 times and she never returned any texted,My son called me yesterday while i was getting groceries complaining not able to rest due to gs,i can read between the lines my dil wanted us to take gs for the day so she can sleep,my dh tells me' she has her bunker back" my dil is very very lazy if she was going to empty boxes,put the things up different story.But i refuse to take care of my gs while she sleeps.And i have not heard from her yet and i wont be used by her again.And i am going to try to keep peace with our son.

edr, you're learning to navigate the waters. I pray that you'll be able to outwit the dil and take good care of yourself too.

It is hard to know what to do when you are walking on eggshells with a DIL. I pray for peace and wisdom for you. I have two DILs....one is so mean and horrible to me, and the other is an absolute saint who I thank God for everyday. And I have a darling son in law who is good to me. It is so important who our children choose for spouses. It impacts the entire family. Hugs to you.

It is hard to know what to do at times. Some people are difficult to please. If you want to help out for your son's sake or to be with your gs it might be worth it. If it is too much for you then let him know. The games are so tiring for us.

edr...don't ever get sucked back into the games, they are just using you. Your DIL sounds so lazy and a troublemaker like ours.

poodle......you are so right....the in-laws can bring harmony or conquer to divide. Both our in-laws are terrible...our ES and ED are unhappy pretending to be otherwise....what a waste of their lives. They don't fool me one bit. Like my brother told me ES and ED are in the middle of both the spouses and us. Do these AC have any brains or common sense at all?? Neither of their spouses love or care about them, that is not rocket science to see. Our son flips back and forth with his emails being dictated by the "wife". I really think your son is torn between you and his wife too....that is sad but they need to put their foot down. We think our son is terrified of our DIL...why are they such wimps is beyond me..

They have moved back 3 days and the stress has built up already,Dh and myself are trying to keep ourselves a step ahead.Oh yes dil is very lazy and we will keep our eyes open at all times,Dh and myself want to keep things the way they are. Our son has chose his wife we dont live with her he does and dont want to be blamed for any trouble between them.
