My son graduated from high school this weekend. It was a beautiful, special ceremony and we had 10 family members there. Then we had a party at our house afterwards with family and close friends. It was wonderful! I even liked the dress I bought for the occasion, and I hate dresses! We did not invite my ED and her family, and I know that was the right decision. She would have called attention to herself, and it was my son's special day. We haven't seen ED in over 6 months now.
Just the week before, I got laid off from my part time job. Within days I got a call from a previous manager of mine and was fast-tracked through HR to work for his company! Job market is terrible right now for my industry so I can't believe how this all worked. My new job is full-time, which I haven't done in 20 plus years, but my son will be leaving for college in a few weeks and my nest will be empty.
God has surrounded us with wonderful family and friends and has provided diversions for me (job/other family), so that I don't curl up in a ball and cry all day - been there, done that,(as I'm sure many of you have)-- it's really not the way to go.
Just want to encourage us this morning that there is hope and there is joy- even without our EC. It may not be the way we would have chosen, but I feel like God is teaching me to embrace and enjoy what He has provided. He will take care of my ED.

Some days, things are just so hard, and then I get on here and find something like that and I know He is comforting and loving me - us - in ways we can't even fathom. Thank you for that!
And that's so wonderful about your new job - may it bring you new friends, confidence and happiness!
I agree God has given us much and wants us to enjoy all he has provided. I feel I owe it to Him (and to my departed family of origin) to try to do just that.
And it is up to us, I feel, to go out and seek diversions and satisfaction, in addition to enjoying all the blessings surrounding us all the time, including life itself on this beautiful earth.
