My oldest daughter who has not attended one family get together after another for over a year, and who doesn't contact us has finally turned our oldest 14 yr old granddaughter against us. This is a girl who for the first few years of her life was here more than she was with her mother. Today I am done, my daughter also painted her bio dad black with lies mixed with some truth and my gd won't speak to him. God give me strength to leave this in your hands. After all I am done raising kids and people that don't want to be in my life ... it is what it is.... I have Christmas presents here for all 3 of them... guess I will give them to some of my other grandchildren. Sorry just venting....

Vent away! I am at a point where I just want to get on a plane and talk with my ES. I know I won't but this 'situation' is getting the best of me these days.

I completely understand gma. Children tend to be childish and we will not play childish games. It sounds like your daughter has not grown up yet if she is still gossip mongering with 14 year olds. Yes, if people do not want to be in our lives we should give them their wish. Blessings to you and family. --EJ

I hope this helps.
When I was a kid I heard lie after lie about people. I knew they weren't true.
My snoring husband here...43yrs married, I met when he was 12. He was one of them.
Anyway, I knew better than to stand up for myself.
But as you can see, it didn't stop me from marrying him. Or seeing and loving my grandmother either...later of course.

So sorry that you have gone through this with your gd I believe there will come a time when young people think for themselves and stop listening to the lies of adults. Very sad that things have to go this way first.

Both my daughters have been estranged for more than 3 years now. They won't tell me why, and listen to all of the garbage my obnoxiously un-Christian members of my family, or my estranged husband's family tells them. When they did respond to me they told me to "go f**k yourself" more times than I care to mention. Oddly, though, even though they refuse to have any contact with me, they haven't blocked me. I posted a schmaltzy picture/saying on their message board to the effect that it would be nice to let me know they were OK once in a while. I guess they know I will look at their pages now and then, and that is their way of letting me know they are still out there somewhere.

See if you can get a message to your GD and ask her to let you visit her page, even if you can't see anything but the pictures. Ask God to soften her heart and show you the path to know He is the only one who has control over everything. God bless.
