I'm searching for a group to attend .. to strengthen myself .. and others .. So when the next storm hits, I won't be blown to smithereens.
Tried a group last night. Felt smothered. Pressured. Too much .. too soon.
I long to love and be loved.
But I also long for .. freedom.
I was pressured, smothered in pseudo Christianity .. as a preacher's kid .. a desperate plunge into madness.
He has helped me.
Does anyone know what it's like to feel smothered?

It was a Christian 12 step; immediately, I was bombarded with intrusive questions, several people hugged me (which made me very uncomfortable) .. a hug means something to me .. not impersonal .. it was too much "intimacy" .. I did NOT like the coined phrases and pressure to label myself. I think not. Awkward. And very much so. There's no substitute for time.. it takes time to be comfortable with others. Very smothering. In-your-face stuff.
