CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I'm so very sorry that you're being kept from those dearest to you. It's mind-boggling how much pain our EC's cause, but then again, it's also incomprehensible how deep and wide is the compassion and love our Father has for us in the midst of this suffering. HE knows and understands. So do we. Thank you for sharing - my heart goes out to you. And to each of us in the same boat.
I believe God gave you the strength to go to the baby shower and to rejoice with others. It is a wonderful testimony when others see us continuing to move forward and serving the Lord and blessing others. Only by His grace to us can we do it. Blessings to you.
I'm not sure I was a blessing to anyone at the shower since most don't know and I don't want those who do to hold their breaths wondering if I'm going to be downcast or not. So I kept my sadness to myself, gave the ol' pep talk ("Grow up, girl - don't be selfish - this is a happy event for everyone else") and soon my feelings were in line with my altered mindset. I made myself do it - I really wanted a pity party, but no one else would have wanted to come!
