CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
As for your dad and your anger at his reaction to you goes, his reaction may be inappropriate but how you reacted to him may also be inappropriate if the language and tone of voice was said and done in anger. However, each person is held accountable by God for their own failings.
Sometimes these things do happen when our attempts at outreach is rebuffed. The road to recovery in estrangement is similar for an alcoholic attempting recovery - it is quite often bumpy. The important thing is to not give up over bumpiness - only over complete breakdown when everything has been attempted and neither side chooses to compromise for the sake of peace.
God bless you and your family. Keep in touch. Always put Jesus first in your life and marriage and lead your child in His ways. Shalom.
Please try to have hope that one day God will speak to your Father's heart and change his heart. Only God can change a persons heart. It took me many, many months to accept this. Congratulations on your pregnancy. You will be a wonderful, loving Mommy there is no doubt in my mind. God's peace for you and your husband.
