CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
We're so glad you found us too! I sure hope we can be of help and support to you.
Wow about your ED! So sad too! You certainly must be distraught as to the way she is living her life right now. How old is your daughter btw? It sounds to me like she needs some serious counseling has she ever gone to counseling? It also sounds like she feels compelled to be with the father due to the pregnancy more than out of "love" - if you can call it love when you are being abused. These types of relationships are so toxic they can only get worse, not better. And even worse is that now an innocent child is going to be brought into the picture. I would do whatever I could to get her help and encourage him to get help too.
She stopped taking all her meds after she found out about her pregnancy, thank God. Prayer has been and continues to be our greatest weapon against the choices she has made and it has helped us so much. We are just leaving her to our Lord and going on with our lives.
I am talking to myself here too. I have many fears, sometimes unusual ones, that appear to be over the top fears, but God is ever so gently replacing fear in my life with His peace and joy. Hope this helps you feel a bit better and know that it's o.k. to have fear at times, it's just better to leave that fear with God, because after all, He knows best how to deal with it. I like what you wrote: " We are just leaving her to our Lord.."
((hugs))
Hugs to you!
