I was having a pretty good day today. My dad stopped over and asked me to go to lunch with him and then run a few errands with him. After we had lunch and finished all of his errands we decided to go visit my sister. She lives in the same town as my daughter. The front door was open and my dad and I were sitting on the sofa beside each other when in walks my daughter. She looks at us, so I said hi and her response was a wave. Then she walks over to my dad, who I am sitting right beside and gives him a great big hug, and then moves away and proceeds to carry on a conversation with my sister and my dad. My dad looked at me like he couldn't believe she didn't hug me. It was all I could do to keep from breaking down right there in the living room. When she got ready to leave she told everyone else she loved them and then gave me a wave goodbye and then walked out. I haven't felt that hurt by her in a long time. My only daughter to treat me like a rank stranger, I don't understand how she could do that and then to act like it was no big deal. My dad told me not to give up on her and I won't but I am not going to pursue a relationship with someone who doesn't want one with me. If she changes her mind she knows where I live. Until then I will just have to turn my hurt over to the Lord.
