CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Generally speaking, I for one am not for cutting off contact without letting the person know why you need to take a break for a while. If necessary, a simple statement like, "Our communications are to volatile and therefore too stressful for us to continue without any progress. Therefore, I think we need to take a break and perhaps gain so new perspective. We are here if you need us for any emergency and will always love you no matter what."
Just a thought though, you say that he does not like to listen to how you feel, could you volunteer to have a conversation where you tell him that you want to listen to how he feels about what is going on or what has happened to the relationship?
I don't believe I would ignore the phone if he calls. I would let him know again that your DH would like to set a time and place to talk. God bless you
