My formerly ES called me to tell me not only did they get confirmation from the doctor THAT his new baby is on its way BUT that he called me 3RD. Which Means he called me BEFORE he called his 4 siblings which in MY case is AMAZING! A real first for me!! He made it a special point to tell me that he called ME 3rd! Plus I got to talk to DiL and tell her that I would truly be talking to God about them and their new child forth coming...Told her I would be praying a Rosary Chaplet morning and night everyday ESPECIALLY including the baby! AND since mom is also Catholic it meant a LOT to her too...

Just HAD to share ... AGAIN!

Notdead: Congrats! That's a long way to come from estrangement. That's fantastic for you! My children know how much I want to be a grandmother, so I wouldn't be surprised if they called me first but I would be fine if they called me 4th. My ED never called me at all. As a matter of fact, a friend in DS who I have never met in real life just told me when my granddaughter's birthday is just a few days ago. I never knew when she was born and she is over a year old now. At least I know now!

NDY......How considerate of him to put you up along to top of his list of people to notify. I think this is a good sign that you may have a short estrangement to looke forward to.

Yes, EXCEPT my son is a Pittsburgh PENGUIN Hockey fan & he plays & follows golf more than he does the Steelers! I suppose they have a Lemieux shirt available for a wee baby. I guess in this day & age it would be OK for a girl as well as a boy..DiL says she DOESN'T wan to know ahead of time! So we have THAT to contend with for a shirt. Says she wants to be surprised like her sister.

I am SO old that I was around when you didn't know and all the newborn stuff was green or yellow to go home to for the first week! By the time I had my last two I knew I was having girls and thought it was great to know ahead of time when I was accumulating baby clothes. But then, when you are having your first one, money is no object. I didn't have that luxury with what was, for me, my sixth and seventh pregnancy, my fourth and fifth live births.
