God be with you sovery. I feel your pain. We have been estranged from our ED for 2 1/2 years. It is so against God's way. We never would have chosen this. Only God can lift us up and keep us going. Only He can change hearts and bring healing. We can pray with faith. With God ALL things are possible.

Yes, we are there with you, I'm afraid to say. :( It comes to a point where I stopped reaching out because it hurt worse than not looking for an answer or a kind word in response.. I have came to realize it has to come from my son. He has to grow up enough to step over his beloved and say he wants us in his life or it wont happen. She is not ever going to let it happen if he waits for her approval. Afterall she has her family so she doesnt want us in their life.
Aug was when mine blew up too.. it had gone on months before but came to a head in Aug..

Hi, August must be a bad month. Its been a year for me too. Sovery, your story could be mine - emails occasionally. Last week I received one that blames my DH and I for the estrangement and my ES said he thought that I would be beating down their door by now for contact. That gives me pause. I'm praying for guidance.

18 years for me....and it still hurts.....not as much as the back then but it always is an empty spot in my life.....where he and my GC should be.......he just had his 33 rd birthday....I can't believe I am old enough to have a 33 year old son.....I miss him.....and always will......maybe yours will come back to you...I pray he does I truly do

Its been almost a year and a half for us and it is still so painful. Its hard to not have the answer to "why" I have spent many hours writing, calling, texting, emailing trying to get a response, but there is nothing Now my ED is having her third baby girl and I will never hold this one. My son also was pulled into this and he is expecting twins in 6 months, I am devastated. I don't understand children that would want to create so much pain. We were close as there were years that I was a single Mom. Their father died 4 years ago and I keep thinking something snapped in them...I just don't know. Praying constantly, have a prayer warrior who is praying too. I have a hard time letting go and waiting on God's perfect timing. My gc will no longer know me now that time has marched on. They were so dear to me and I was so thrilled to be a Grandmother. I helped out whenever they asked, but was always so careful to respect their way to parent, etc...just don't understand why they would do this. I am surprised at how many parents this has happened to...I am thankful to find a group to be able to discuss.hugs everyone!

Thank you Paws and Lindajoan....the mystery is what is hard....I would listen and talk to my children about anything. I am trying to be forgiving and we are instructed to pray for blessing for them...its been hard to do for sure. I am trying to seek God's direction and His will through this and have faith....so extremely hard...I pray and cry a lot...thank you for teh support and hugs!!!

Yes, grandmama2, same here. That seems to be a united cord between all of us, how close we were with our children. It's a mystery to us all. I know with my son no one could have ever made me believe he would do this to me, but he met a girl.................. Now he calls her mom, mom and I dont hear from him at all, for years and years.

Paws,You are so correct. I have often thought that I should have spent jsut as much time teaching my kids to respect me as I did to repect others. I mistakenly thought that was a given.

Sooo hear you on that one nana58. !!!!! My hub kept saying they needed to respect us more but I thought well they will as adults ...ha... Big mistake !! And I should have set the expectation for spouses as well. Lessons learned :(

I did teach my son respect for my hub, but he didnt teach my son respect for me! I also thought it was a given and that my son loved me and that would never end, TILL he met the girl, then he ended up treating me like my husband did all these years... it really showed how fast he switched gears and turned on me.. I will never understand how he could do that, but he did!
