Dear friends, this is such a difficult time of year for those of us dealing with estrangement. This is our first year without out ED and I have been dreading Nov-Dec because of all the holiday festivities. I have found that I do so much better when I "change up" our traditional activities. This year, we went to the beach for Thanksgiving, which is totally different. I had a great time and was able to really enjoy it. But when we went to see a certain part of our family last weekend and did all the things we used to do when our ED was with us, I had multiple meltdowns and fell apart. So, for Christmas Eve in a few days- instead of going to our church service like we have for 20 years- we are going to a homeless outreach in our very urban downtown area and hand out meals and blankets. I'm looking forward to that.
So, just a suggestion/encouragement as we all struggle through this time of year to do something different and reach out to others.
