CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

I just want everyone to know this is me, Tammy, but I changed my user name to poodlegirl61. When I signed up I didn't realize that my email address would be my username, so I needed to change that! Sorry for the confusion! I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!

How did you change it?

I clicked on the "help" section and they gave me a link to a search engine so I could find a name that nobody else had. Once I found one, I emailed them back and then they just automatically did it. My sweet husband was worried that I had my name on the first one, so I changed it for him. But it's still me!

Yes, I do. Two, actually. And that is also something I am having a hard time with right now. My oldest one is 15 and is really going downhill fast. I know the time is coming when I am going to have to have him put to sleep and it is breaking my heart. And our youngest son is due in from college this evening and I know he will be upset. He got really bad this past summer and we thought we were going to have to put him down then, but he rallied. This time is a different story. He seems to be having little "spells". I am not sure exactly what it is....sort of like little mini seizures. Sigh....

Im sorry poodlegirl. The prospect of, or losing a pet is so sad. I had a toy poodle/shitzu mix that I had to put down 2 years ago. I cried for 2 weeks & I still think of her. She was under 5 lbs & I took her everywhere with me. I used to hide her in my purse & take her into the grocery store, convenience store, etc. Everyone loved her & wanted to take her home. She was a rescue dog & was very mistreated as a puppy, resulting in health problems for which we had to put her down. I am comforted in knowing she is out of pain & is in heaven frolicking with all the other dogs. :-)

Thank you. He is no worse today, and last night I googled his symptoms and he does seem to be exhibiting the classic signs of Vestibular disease, which is very common in old dogs. Basically, he is dizzy, and there really is no cure, and usually it subsides after a few days or weeks. Or it could be something else, and he will get much worse, or die. I am sure you wonder why I don't just take him to the vet, but the last time I took him, which was two years ago, they said he had a tumor on his armpit and he needed to have his arm amputated because it was cancer. I said no, and the vet said, "Well if you don't, the cancer will interfere with his walking" and I said, "So will cutting off his arm" and the "tumor" went away and he was fine. So I am so glad I didn't listen to them.
