That is our story, too. Our son is in college and before his marriage, he would come back to now his in-laws' home without seeing us. Now that he married the girl, I believe the pattern is continuing. I have also had church friends tell me "he's back". His in-laws live only 7 miles from our home. There is no sense of fairness. He had been seeing the girlfriend for a year and a half and now been married for 2 months. We don't know our daughter in law any better now than a year ago. I would never dream of asking for 50-50, but a visit would go a long way. I have asked twice this week for my son to call me when he has a minute, "Sorry, Mom." I know I need to pull back, but don't know how to keep it up. I keep hoping that a text or call will resonate some feeling. My husband constantly reminds me that I can't make our son feel anything...only God can. I know your heartache...it's mine too!

It's terrible when you get so shoved aside. Found out ED moved back to area last March. Had a wedding that I wasn't supposed to know anything about. Her friend who's the daughter of her old youth pastor went, but she didn't even tell me.

Ican understand,going through it right now.Son and dil moved to the new rental until home is built,we never new or went to hotel the insurance put them in,they drove 6 hrs to get his mil and she stayed with them.we have not been to the home yet.Son bring gs over and leave him and come and pick him up.Really only when its to there benifit only.I am thankful for the time i spend with son and gs for some dont get that.But it hurts deeply.I am pulling back alot my gs bday is wed and cause we wont buy cake we are not included,thanksgiving wont be at our home this year i willcook a small dinner for me and dh,gs when comes to visit and thats our thanksgiving,same with his birthday.I will cry i know i will.i am sorry for all of us

So very, this is a real kick in the gut, isn't it? Went through this last year, and it was tremendously hurtful and heartbreaking. Esp as I realized my ED had woven quite a tale to the church family she stays with while in town, about her monstrous mother.

Well, now I don't give it a thought. I came to the conclusion(it was really hard to get to this point) that I don't even want this person in my house, until she 'allows' for some sort of discussion on our relationship.

My oh....I remember so how much that hurt, when I head she was in town, staying with another church family. Everyone (but me) knew she was here. I am so sorry. Our kids can really be awful. They are sinners, like we are, and not above abusing our love. I am so sorry.

i always cooked thanksgiving dinner first time i wont, it is going to break my heart. But we have figured out how there evil minds work,and we were so stupid,blind.On gs b-day we were welcometo there home we would buy cake and they would call and order it how ever they wanted it,thanksgiving i would cook 2 days they would do nothing but come and enjoy,christmas we would go to there home for dinner we were welcome we would buy alot of gifts,cook half the dinner and take with us.I know its the holidays why treat me nice on those days only,what is wrong with us.We feel we are no longer important in his life,or part of family.I am tired of verble,emotional,financial,mental abuse they have handed us.

Sovery, I am so sorry for this pain. There is nothing so difficult for us mothers. We never planned for our EC to reject us like this. I understand. We all do. So does Jesus.

Our ED lives near us and for the past 3 years has done this to the entire family and extended family including her elderly grandmother. It is so difficult each day to know how physically close by she is. Only God can change our EC. He is able. We need His strength each day.

The enemy would like to keep us down and have us feel shame when others realize this. That is his lie. Our EC are the ones dishonoring God and His commandment. According to His Word, there are no excuses.

I feel so hurt right now,my son and dil wont even tell us where they are living,its not that we will go over we are not invited,i guess they want to make sure we wont.

So sorry, that must really hurt. Hugs to you. currently if my ES or DIL would come to town no one would tell us. So dont know which would be better, knowing or not knowing. Prayers.

Im so sorry for the pain I know you are feeling. My ES has done this to me as well. Nothing hurts more than being spurned by your own child. Take a deep breath & pray the blood of Christ over the situation. ((hugs))
