CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
"O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You."
God answered: "You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you."
So often we try to "help God out". So did Abraham and Sara. Look at the result of that. It's so much better when we take our hands off and leave it in God's loving hands. In my humble opinion anyway.
In my case, I am sure God wanted me to stop with my ES, but I didn't. We feel such desperation and just want it fixed and also want the pain to end and, although "wait" is one of God's answers, it is not what we want to do. A dear sister told me, quite bluntly, that I was so consumed with my estrangement that I was not able to be used by God. I really did appreciate her frankness. It was a wake up call for me. So, in my case, I am pretty confident God did want me to stop trying and trust in Him.
