CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
As I was praying for us this morning, I did ask the Lord to see His hand in all of this, for some glimpse…and I believe this is it. Thank you for sharing it!
This goes along with my latest Scripture that I've been thinking upon… "The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” exodus 14:14
It is heartbreaking to know that our children are blinded and under the influence of the enemy.
God is good and He can see and do what we cannot. He does hear our prayers. Though He seems silent, our prayers are not in vain…they do not go unanswered… we just can't see right now what He is doing in their lives. They have free will to make choices, but we will pray that the blinders are lifted and their hearts softened. We must leave our children in His care for Him to do what we cannot do. I believe we can only surrender them completely by daily prayer. spending time in His Word, and by godly encouragement from each other…even as I pray, I still slip and try to pull her back into my will, crying out that I want her to come home--I want to hug my daughter, but nothing is more important than her restoration to the Lord.
What Scriptures do you all go to for strength through this estrangement?
I keep going back to 1 Thes 5:16-18. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks." It reminds me although this trial is so difficult that there are still many blessings and much to pray about.
God bless us all.
praying for Truth to be revealed in the lives of our EC.
