Gordos4...you do not need to pray for forgiveness from your son...just because he wants to come "home" for a vacation and you think he should stay in his own apartment and go to his job....there is nothing to be forgiven for in that as you have done nothing wrong.

If it was the best for him to do and you are confident in your actions...there is no need for you to seek or pray for forgiveness.

Rest strong in your convictions and actions...he should ask for forgiveness from you if he gets mad or disgusted with proper civil grown up actions.

True AllK! Its just that I don't want to go the rest of my life without having my son in my life. My husband doesn't think ES will ever get over it. I also have confidence in that I think God approves of my decision. Ultimately, that is the only opinion I worry about.

It is encouraging that your ES is going for help. In many cases our EC will mature and God willing learn from their mistakes. Wherever are EC are we must pray that God works in their
lives the way He knows will reach them. With our ED it seems like she will never change but God is able.

lindajoan, The phrase "the spirit is willing but the flesh weak" has been popping up in my mind ALOT lately. God is able to teach them IF they are open to Him, which my ES is not at the moment. Not only is he blaming ME for all his problems, he is now blaming God & stopped praying. I raised all 4 of my sons to be Christian, now only 2 of them have any belief system. One claims to be atheist, the other just gave up on God. I was reading online that our country has become more secular than ever before. It's scary! People just don't realize what they are missing without God in their life. I pray for them all!

You know when my son was 20 I said to him "Don't talk to me like that I don't deserve it & I am not going to take when you feel you can speak to me like a mother to a son you can come back & we'll talk then. It took 3 years but when he came to the door he was respectful & when we are talking now & he slips & says a "ugly word" he apologizes. Sometimes they just need to grow up. He is 40 now & we have a yo-yo relationship but when he found out his sister had cancer the 1st thing he did was phone & ask me how I was. I am really tired of the "on again off again" routine & I told him when he finally called on Christmas Day that if he had waited till my birthday to call the # would have been changed. Sometimes you just have to play hard ball but u do not do anything without pray anymore. if i had just picked up my Bible 40 years ago & read it the way I read it now I would have been so much better off But you know what they say about hindsight LOL martha

I raised all 3 of my children in the church & all 3 walked away - well all 3 walked out of my life but when my oldest daughter was dignosed with cancer we started emailing & meeting for coffee then lunch and we had 11 good months together I only asked her once about God &didn't like the answer I got. Then in mid aug. i bought her a book called One Minute After You Die but she didn't want to read it so I continued to pray when she was hospitalized in October I took the book in & when I took it out of the bag she said "oh good thaat's the book I wanted to read. When she left us everyone was distraught "except me" because I knew I would see her again. She was just to good for this world to be left in it so God called her home but he brought us together before he did. God knows what's going on & he is always in control & when we really muck things up & jump from the frying pan into the fire He is right there with us just like He always is. take care martha
