Hello to all of you! I have been so encouraged by the responses you all have made when I post. I feel so encouraged when I read everything.
After a session with my therapist today, I am praying about speaking with my oldest son and daughter in law. Just to skim the surface about the tension between us. My daughter is getting married May 3, and I'm actually helping out with her shower being given! Anyway, when I have contacted my daughter in law regarding the shower she hasn't returned any of my text messages or emails. I left a voicemail with my oldest son, her husband asking if we could talk about the shower and a few other things on my mind. I haven't heard from him yet. I'll be using a lot of I statements and staying away from any type of blaming their father or them for anything. He has had a huge part in their believing half truths and outright lies about me...not sure how to do this, prayer for the right words, and even if my son and daughter in law will see me and talk. They run from any type of deep convo., and I don't want to ruin this. I'm just weary of the rudeness and disrespect, and want to gently bring it up....any feed back is appreciated and definitely prayer! Thank you all so much!

My daughter got married this past summer, and our ES wasn't invited, and it broke my heart. I was hoping it would be a time of restoration and reconciliation, but I had no control over the invitation list. It's like estrangement has taken over and caused so much pain to all of my family, now broken to pieces. Only God can put the pieces back together.
Praying for you Stephanie. God will surely give you all the wisdom to get through this important event.

How is your relationship with your DIL? Is she encouraging him to work your issues out or is she the problem? Just asking.
