I guess it is time I give an update. After 28 months of being gone my daughter moved back from NY to VA. We were estranged for 20 months. The day she gave birth I was by her side. Eight months later she moved back home. Unfortunately, she was also two months pregnant.

I had just been diagnosed with Hepatitis C. I was told I had an incurable liver disease that could lead toward cirrhosis, cancer or death. Two months later a new drug was approved by the FDA that is being touted as a cure! The cost of $1k a day (that is not a typo) is being covered by my insurance. I just started week four of twelve weeks of treatment. The side effects aren't fun but it is better than the alternative.

My daughter and granddaughter live with her dad about 60% of the time. We joke that we have joint custody. She stays here every weekend and often comes early and stays late (Thursday - Monday) I try to be as supportive as possible. It is very trying. One side effect of treatment is irritability. I don't fully trust her yet, she doesn't have a. key to my house. She doesn't understand that this second pregnancy is not a joyous event. She is being fully supported by her dad and I. She isn't working, baby daddy is a deadbeat and she still has a "relationship" with him. She keeps talking about her "reveal" and doesn't understand why I think some people will think this is bad news.

For those of you waiting I wish I had good advice for you. The only thing I can say is there is nothing you can do to change it. If there were you would have some it a long time ago. You can't continue to worry, it doesn't help. Hand this to the Lord and let Him help you. Stay in faith.
