I just want to thank everyone who offered advice over my most recent saga, and even if you didn't post, for your prayers and thoughts anyway. I won't be rushing to Arkansas to see the grands anytime soon. Too many demands, ridiculous ultimatums, insults, hurtful things....all of it has shown that their hearts have not changed. I have had some people say to me their prayer all along as been for me to just get to see my grandchildren. Well that has NEVER been my prayer. I have never prayed to just get to see my son, either. Or that my DIL would "start acting right". Yet these are some of the things my well meaning friends have said to me. What in the world does that accomplish? I actually DID get to see my ES last year, for one hour, and it did not mean one thing. So no, those kinds of prayers, though well intentioned I am sure, are worthless. MY prayer has been for my son and DIL to turn their hearts to God. NOTHING ABOUT ME in that prayer! Me, nor my husband and our feelings, are not the ultimate goal at all. I pray they turn to God, because I know once that happens, everything else will fall into place. Then we will see our son, we will see those grandchildren! But until that happens, it is all for naught. One of you, I think it was Lucy, posted something about what if I did go up there, under these current circumstances, and I did form a relationship with those kids. Since my ES and DIL's hearts are still unchanged and are still playing mind games, what if then they snatched those kids right back out from under us? I could not bear that. So, like she said, it is much better to cut the loss now. I cannot tell you how much peace that brings me. I slept better last night than I have in a long, long time. In the meantime, I will continue to pray. Not for me to see my loved ones, but for my loves ones to TURN TO GOD! I believe in miracles, and I do believe He will be glorified! Thank you and God bless us all.

Someone also mentioned yesterday that there is no well to make certain who is emailing (ES or DIL) so it all could be a trap....

Whatever it is probably won't go away, so we might as well live and laugh through it. When we double over laughing, we're bending so we won't break. If you think your particular troubles are too heavy and too traumatic to laugh about, remember that laughing is like changing a baby's diaper. It doesn't solve any problems permanently, but it makes things more acceptable for awhile.
